The Darkness: Flash Fiction

I was once told that if I close my eyes and hope hard enough, I could get anything that I want. I tried it for days but nothing happened. Sitting in the dark room, I would close my eyes and start to pray day and night, stopping only for toilet breaks and to eat. Although what I hoped for have never turned into reality yet, I know that one day, I would be given the freedom at I wanted. Although that night, I still didn’t get what I wanted, I know that one day, the Gods will get me out of my cell so that I could continue to kill for them. After all, how else could I stop their whisperings in my head.
